Arborescent Time

On a sunny day, the Brown University Main Green is filled with joyful students basking in the first warm sunlight of Spring. Two devices sit located on either end of the grassy expanse. You are given the following zine. It instructs to pick up these reflective glass tiles and look through. The tiles are covered in a layer of mirror like silver on top, you pick it up by the edge and see a projected image that mimics the landscape of the site. It looks like a snapshot of the landscape, but subtle figures walk through as well, and you realize it is a video. These devices are meant to convey the hidden histories of land. By viewing these videos and walking between the two tile locations, you can perhaps transport yourself and reflect on hidden histories of the land and the meaning of the place the Brown University campus occupies.
